Toneburst, DiSEqC and Astra + Hotbird
DiSEqC selects the signal path through the satellite cable. A satellite name in the service list cannot select an external switch on its own. The receiver needs a mapping between each port and LNB.
Configure Astra and Hotbird
Section titled “Configure Astra and Hotbird”- Open Menu → Setup → Tuners, Scanning & Reception → Tuner Configuration → the connected satellite tuner.
- Choose Configuration mode: Simple.
- Choose Mode: DiSEqC A/B for a suitable two-input switch.
- Assign Astra 19.2°E to A and Hotbird 13.0°E to B if the cables use those ports.
- Leave voltage and 22 kHz enabled for a conventional universal-LNB system. Save, check and scan each position separately.
A monoblock combines the LNBs and switch in one housing. Whether Astra is A or B depends on the product and mounting. Both LNBs on a multi-feed dish must be aligned to the intended positions.
Simple modes and their purpose

1.0, 1.1 and 1.2
Section titled “1.0, 1.1 and 1.2”DiSEqC 1.0 uses committed commands for up to four switch positions. 1.1 adds uncommitted switches for larger or cascaded installations. 1.2 controls motor positions. USALS calculates motor targets from the location and satellite position. Higher numbers do not mean better picture quality. Cascades require matching command order, port numbers and repeats: advanced settings.
If only one position works, check the port mapping and switch output, then test a known frequency on the other position before changing repeats. AutoDiSEqC can identify supported positions but cannot correct the wiring.
