General tuner settings and priorities
Menu → Setup → Tuners, Scanning & Reception → Tuner Settings is separate from configuring individual inputs. It controls selection among available tuners and certain driver-specific cases. The 12 extracted setup entries are already listed in the general reference.
| Group | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Preferred tuner | Preference for normal reception when multiple usable tuners exist; Auto lets Enigma2 choose |
| Preferred tuner for recordings | Recording-specific preference; Disabled follows the general preference, Auto uses default allocation rules |
| Multiple preferred recording tuners | Expert-level list of preferred tuners |
| Strict limitation, experimental | Changes sharing of occupied frontends in favour of the preferred list; may distribute resources differently |
| Disable background scanning | Prevents normal service updates while receiving a transponder; do not enable without a reason |
| Ignore DVB-S/C/T namespace subnetwork | Specialist service-identity rules with valid ONIDs; affects matching, not frequency correction |
| Delivery system workaround | Compatibility with older tuner drivers; only for the relevant problem |
| Force LNB power / toneburst | Hardware-specific control, not general reception improvements |
| 12 V output | Separate switching output on supported receivers; not 5 V aerial power or HDMI |
A tuner preference cannot create another signal path or bypass single-tuner limits. Start with automatic allocation for a normal installation. Include wiring details when reporting recording allocation problems.
