Umbra – Save and transfer personal style packs

A personal pack lets you recall an appearance or share it with another compatible Umbra installation. It contains style values, not plugins or an image database.

  1. Choose an included pack and your desired individual overrides.
  2. Press Blue — Save style (Stil speichern) and enter a meaningful name.
  3. Confirm the export. Umbra asks before replacing an existing personal pack with the same name.
  4. Select it under Style pack. Review existing overrides, which still take precedence, and press Green to apply.

Personal packs are JSON files in /etc/enigma2/umbra/styles. To transfer one, copy the relevant file into the same directory on the target receiver, then reopen Umbra. The displayed name need not match the technical filename.

All effective style values are exported. OSD resolution and local weather data are deliberately omitted. Export creates a saved file immediately: Red/EXIT afterwards does not undo it. There is currently no dedicated import or delete button.

Use SFTP or FTP to transfer the file. Keep an extra copy of a useful pack outside the receiver. Saving a style pack does not replace a full settings backup.

A pack copied from another installation should use a format supported by the installed Umbra version. Reopen the plugin after placing the file so it can read the pack directory again.
