Picons: channel logos and directories
Picons are small channel logos. The skin determines their position and size; picon settings determine where matching images are found. They are separate from e2MDB covers and posters.
Set up
Section titled “Set up”- Install a suitable picon package through Download plugins or copy your own PNG files to an appropriate directory. Check the package description and destination.
- Open Menu → Setup → Usage & GUI → Picon Settings.
- Select search mode and any directories, then save with Green.
- Enable logos in the Infobar and channel list. New list templates must support them too.
- Check several channels. One matching logo does not establish that the whole package matches.
Search mode and the nine fields

The nine reference entries are already in the settings directory. Multi-path mode provides Yellow → Add Path, Blue → Remove Path and OK on a path → directory selector. Removal targets the last additional path; change any assignment still using it first. It does not delete PNG files. Configured directories must exist when saving.
Automatic search considers local directories such as /usr/share/enigma2/picon, /picon and suitable picon folders on mounted storage. The renderer caches discovered paths. Single-path mode therefore does not imply a freely editable single-directory field in this dialog. Multi-path mode uses a valid assigned directory specifically; missing logos are not freely merged from all other assigned directories.
Matching filenames to channels
Section titled “Matching filenames to channels”Service-reference picons commonly use the first ten reference fields joined with underscores. This illustrates the syntax, not a guaranteed real channel reference:

Names are normalised, so the visible channel label is not always the exact filename. IPTV service references matter too. A changed URL, reference or channel name can affect matching. Picons do not supply EPG data.
Storage and troubleshooting
Section titled “Storage and troubleshooting”Local flash or permanently mounted USB storage keeps logos available when the NAS is off. Balance PNG size/count against available flash. HDD folders may cause disk access; network paths can delay the interface when the NAS is unavailable. Automatic local search skips /media/net; choose an explicitly assigned remote location with care.

The skin scales picons. A transparent logo can disappear against a similar background; check background colour and aspect ratio.
