Assign Unicable, SCR and JESS correctly
Unicable carries several requested transponders over one coaxial cable. Each independent tuner needs its own allocated User Band number and frequency. Do not guess unused values without installation details: a duplicate UB can disrupt another subscriber.
Obtain these details first
Section titled “Obtain these details first”From the label, installer or building operator: LNB/multiswitch manufacturer and model, protocol, UB number, UB frequency, available satellite positions, plus PIN and external supply details if applicable. A programmed multiswitch may differ from its factory profile.

Configure the advanced tuner form
Section titled “Configure the advanced tuner form”- Select Configuration mode: Advanced, then the first supplied satellite position.
- Assign an LNB number, for example LNB 1.
- Select Type of LNB/Device: Unicable, then SCR LNB, SCR matrix or User defined.
- Select the exact model profile. For reprogrammed or unlisted installations use User defined with the operator’s parameters.
- Check the allocated channel and frequency. Some documents count from 1 while software values may count from 0: verify the frequency and allocation together instead of copying a number blindly.
- Select the matching protocol under Diction if shown in manual configuration. A UB that requires EN 50607 cannot be addressed using EN 50494.
- Enable a PIN only if this UB is protected. The operator supplies it; it is not an arbitrary personal receiver password.
- Assign other positions from the same system, save and test several services. Then check the second subscriber.

Recognise wiring faults
Section titled “Recognise wiring faults”A splitter must support satellite IF, SCR control and the necessary DC paths. Follow the system plan for diode isolation and any power inserter. Account for splitter loss, termination and permitted cable lengths. A plain Y lead does not provide independent legacy satellite reception.
- Reception fails when another subscriber zaps: check duplicate UBs and DC/splitter paths.
- Only one position works: check position mapping and profile before assigning an additional UB.
- No signal after a cold start: check supply, bootup time and SCR outlet.
- A new receiver disrupts a neighbour: confirm its allocation with the building operator.
Manufacturer examples illustrate why exact tables matter: Inverto programmable 32-UB LNB. This is a technical reference, not a configuration for every installation. FBC with multiple demodulators will have a separate extension.
