DVB-T/T2 and 5 V for active aerials

Menu → Setup → Tuners, Scanning & Reception → Tuner Configuration → enable terrestrial reception. Country and region select prepared scan frequencies. DVB-T2 requires a suitable frontend; changing the region cannot turn a DVB-T tuner into DVB-T2 hardware.

  1. Connect the aerial to ANT IN or the shared DVB-C/T2 socket.
  2. Enable DVB-T/T2 and select country and region. If the region is absent, use All or an appropriate general frequency list.
  3. Enable 5 V for active antenna only as required by the connection.
  4. Scan; if reception fails, test a known local multiplex directly.

The supply named in the OpenATV tuner form is 5 V, not 4 V. Actual availability depends on the receiver.

5 V cannot amplify a passive aerial. An active aerial does not automatically benefit from more gain: excessive signal level can also reduce reception quality. Check the receiver, accessory and aerial current limits together.

Manual scan offers frequency or channel number, bandwidth, DVB-T/T2 system, modulation, code rates, guard interval, transmission mode, hierarchy and the T2 PLP ID. Use Auto where supported and appropriate, otherwise follow operator data. A PLP is a physical data pipe in the T2 transmission, not a programme number. See the scan reference.

A T2 lock does not prove that the video can be decoded. Encryption and codecs are additional requirements. PLP and driver limits can restrict sharing between recording and live TV: single tuner.
