e2MDB – Prefill settings


Prefill prepares metadata for upcoming programmes before you select them. It can only process future events that already exist in Enigma2’s EPG.
Settings

| Enable Live/EPG prefill | Main switch for preparing future metadata. |
| Prefill mode | Off, standby, night window or idle modes, as offered by the version. This is separate from a scheduled function task. |
| Night prefill start hour | Beginning of the night window; standby and background priorities can also matter. |
| Live/EPG prefill days | How far ahead to inspect EPG. Begin with one or two days. |
| Maximum prefill events | Total event limit for a run. Start with a modest channel selection and limit. |
| Maximum events per prefill service | Prevent one channel from dominating a run. |
| Use zap history / top channels | Include frequently used channels in addition to explicitly selected ones. |
Use OpenATV task scheduling for a run at a planned time. A night window is not a second-accurate appointment. Coordinate automatic prefill and additional scheduled runs instead of stacking duplicate triggers.
Completion and queue
Section titled “Completion and queue”“Prefill finished” may mean that candidates have been collected and queued. Internet lookups and artwork downloads can still be running. Check the worker queue and backend status as well.
Open MENU → Blue/More… → Prefill status / diagnostics to examine the current state. The status screen’s Yellow/Reset No-EPG and Blue/Clear queue are state-changing operations, not refresh buttons. Green/Refresh updates the display.
For an empty result, check existing EPG, selected channels, horizon, limits, an active job and no-EPG retry suppression. Correct the underlying issue before resetting state. A large media scan can delay the shared worker.
High limits visible in test screenshots are not recommended defaults. Extend the horizon and channel list only after a complete small run succeeds.
