Manage all 22 network services
Menu → Setup → Network → Network Services offers 22 catalogue entries in the inspected version. Some packages belong to the image; others are installed as needed. Rows distinguish several states rather than a single on/off switch.
Installation, autostart and the running process
Section titled “Installation, autostart and the running process”- Select a service. For a missing optional package, use Left/Right to select Install.
- Green/Save applies package and autostart changes. Downloads require Internet access and matching package sources.
- For an installed service choose and save the desired autostart state, which controls the next system boot.
- Yellow/Start or Stop immediately changes the running service. A service started now is not necessarily enabled for the next boot. Equally, Enabled autostart does not prove the process is currently healthy.
- Blue/Show Log is offered only where a log is configured and available. Not every service has this button.
Changed selections are applied by Save; Yellow acts immediately. Uninstall removes packages and can involve package groups. Do not stop SSH during your only remote administration session. Avoid stopping NFS, Samba or autofs during NAS recordings or transfers.

OpenWebif is not a 23rd entry in this list. It runs inside Enigma2 as a plugin with its own configuration. Restarting the GUI therefore interrupts OpenWebif too. FTP and SFTP are also different: SFTP uses SSH, not the FTP server.
A service will not start
Section titled “A service will not start”Check installation, configuration, occupied ports and logs. A startup script does not establish successful startup. Process status does not test login, share permissions or throughput.
Configured log paths include /var/log/samba/log.smbd, /var/log/inadyn.log, /var/volatile/log/minidlna.log and /etc/openvpn/openvpn.log. Files may be absent if a service has never run. Logs can contain access and connection details.
