Advanced satellite configuration and switch cascades

Advanced describes installations that Simple mode cannot represent fully. Open Menu → Setup → Tuners, Scanning & Reception → Tuner Configuration → connected tuner → Configuration mode Advanced. Write down the wiring, ports and LNB parameters before filling the forms.

Select a satellite at the top. Its LNB number refers to a configuration profile within this tuner. A motor can use the same physical LNB for several positions; two fixed LNBs normally use separate profiles. The number is neither a tuner address nor a Unicable channel. Scanning cannot enable a position that has no assigned signal path.

Group Options and purpose
Satellite Position, LNB assignment, selecting a group of satellites together
LNB Type, priority, LOF/L, LOF/H, threshold; see LNB types
Supply Voltage by polarisation or fixed value; increased voltage only for a suitable installation
Tone By band or fixed; normally Band for universal Ku
Switch DiSEqC mode, toneburst, committed and uncommitted port commands
Cascade Command order, Fast DiSEqC, sequence repeat, DiSEqC 1.1 repeats
Motor USALS per satellite or stored position, location and movement parameters
Single cable SCR device profile, User Band, frequency, protocol, PIN and supply

Starting at the receiver, the signal path encounters an uncommitted switch, then a committed four-way switch, then the LNB. Commands must select the upstream path and the input behind it. Enter both actual input numbers and the matching command order. A switch operating in another mode may require a different sequence.

Toneburst, committed and uncommitted are different commands. Arrange the command-order steps used by the installation. Fast DiSEqC avoids some repeated commands; Sequence repeat sends a sequence again. Repeats increase switching time and cannot correct a wrong port assignment. Do not enable every repeat option as a precaution on a simple installation.

SCPC search range, tone amplitude, T2MI RAW Mode, Connector and Legacy Signal stats appear only with suitable hardware. SCPC concerns narrow single carriers; T2MI RAW enables a different processing path for T2-MI data, for example with astra-sm. These settings do not fix an ordinary misconfigured Astra connection. The full option reference covers each extracted form variant.

Tuner relationships such as Equal to, Connected to and Depends on must match the actual signal path. They matter for shared cables, motors and later FBC configurations. Change one path at a time and check its satellite positions, H/V and low/high band.
