OpenWebif: your receiver in a browser
OpenWebif provides channel lists, EPG, timers, recordings, remote control and administration in a browser. It runs on the receiver inside Enigma2. Screenshots show OpenWebif 2.4.0; available functions depend on image, hardware and installed extensions.
First access
Section titled “First access”- Read the receiver’s IP in Network Overview.
- On a reachable home-network PC, tablet or phone, open a URL such as
http://192.168.1.50. Substitute your own receiver IP. - If a different port is configured, append it, for example
http://192.168.1.50:8080. The actual URL also appears at the bottom of the TV-side OpenWebif configuration. - If authentication is enabled, use a configured account and its password. First set the root password and secure access.
Find TV-side configuration under Plugins → OpenWebif or its entry in the Network menu. Green/Save may restart the web server and disconnect the browser. OpenWebif is unavailable while Enigma2 is stopped; deep standby is not normal web operation.
Classic and modern views
Section titled “Classic and modern views”Use modern interface enables the responsive view, which adapts to narrower screens and mobile devices. The classic view uses left-hand navigation with an integrated keypad. Labels, icons and arrangement differ; both control the same receiver. Mobile detection can also select the modern view automatically.
Changing the web interface does not change the TV skin. Browser screenshots include the test receiver’s model name, but the instructions are model-neutral. Broadcaster-supplied channel names and EPG text are not translated by switching the web interface to English.
| Task | Tour |
|---|---|
| Television, radio, EPG and streams | Channels and programmes |
| Create timers, view and download recordings | Recordings and timers |
| Remote control, long presses, messages and screenshots | Browser remote control |
| Bouquets, AutoTimer, EPGRefresh, e2MDB and more | Extras and administration |
| Ports, authentication, streaming and appearance | All OpenWebif options |
| Protect access and diagnose connection problems | Security and diagnosis |
Handbook search searches documentation. OpenWebif EPG search instead searches the receiver’s programme data. Source: OpenWebif project.
