OpenWebif: all 23 configuration fields
Plugins → OpenWebif, or its entry in the Network menu. This reference explains all 23 fields in the inspected OpenWebif 2.4.0 setup.xml. Many appear only when their parent feature is enabled. Screenshots are unsaved form examples, not evidence of active HTTPS on the test receiver.
OpenWebInterface Enabled
Section titled “OpenWebInterface Enabled”Starts/stops OpenWebif when saved. Re-enable it at the TV if the browser interface is disabled.

Use modern interface
Section titled “Use modern interface”Selects the responsive instead of classic web interface; does not change the Enigma2 TV skin.

Theme mode

Show box name in header

Custom box name
Section titled “Custom box name”Header text, not a hostname/DNS entry. Appears when custom naming is enabled.

HTTP port
Section titled “HTTP port”HTTP access port, normally 80. Append a different port to the browser URL. Changing ports does not add encryption.

Enable HTTP Authentication
Section titled “Enable HTTP Authentication”Requires authentication for HTTP. Set a working account password first. HTTP does not encrypt the connection.

Enable HTTPS
Section titled “Enable HTTPS”Enables TLS web access. Certificate, hostname and time must be correct. Does not automatically secure every streaming path.

HTTPS port

Enable HTTPS Authentication
Section titled “Enable HTTPS Authentication”Require authentication for HTTPS in addition to encryption. Separate from the HTTP switch.

Require client cert for HTTPS
Section titled “Require client cert for HTTPS”Requires a suitable HTTPS client certificate. The server certificate alone does not satisfy this; use only with configured certificate management.

Enable Authentication for streaming
Section titled “Enable Authentication for streaming”Requires authentication for the supported streaming path. Offered under HTTP authentication; saving with HTTP auth disabled resets it. Test your actual player.

Disable remote access for user root
Section titled “Disable remote access for user root”Restricts root logins from external addresses. The inspected code exempts private/local networks; this is not a universal root ban and creates no restricted account.

Without auth only local access is allowed!
Section titled “Without auth only local access is allowed!”Notice/protection for unauthenticated access. Appears when an offered access path has no authentication. It does not establish trust in every local device.

Enable access from VPNs
Section titled “Enable access from VPNs”Extends permitted access in the corresponding mode. Configure a real VPN first; the switch creates no tunnel.

Enable Parental Control
Section titled “Enable Parental Control”Applies Enigma2 parental control to supported Webif functions. Not complete protection for all APIs/file shares.

Streaming port
Section titled “Streaming port”Port used in generated stream links, normally 8001. Must match the actual streaming service.

Add service name to stream information
Section titled “Add service name to stream information”Adds readable channel names to stream information, useful in players and playlists.

Allow IPK Upload
Section titled “Allow IPK Upload”Allows package upload through the web interface. Installation changes the receiver with system privileges; use only trusted compatible packages.

Playback IPTV Streams in browser
Section titled “Playback IPTV Streams in browser”Offers direct IPTV browser playback. Browser codecs, provider access, CORS and mixed content may limit it.

Debug - Display Tracebacks in browser
Section titled “Debug - Display Tracebacks in browser”Shows technical error details for diagnosis. Enable when needed, inspect paths/sensitive data before sharing, then disable again.

Settings inside the browser
Section titled “Settings inside the browser”Find these under Settings → OpenWebif Settings or the modern interface gear. They are separate from ports/authentication in the TV dialogue. Not every view offers all controls simultaneously. Some preferences are saved on the receiver, so do not assume they apply only to the current PC.
Appearance, colour, spinner and modern view
Section titled “Appearance, colour, spinner and modern view”Choose appearance and the waiting indicator.
