Blindscan: workflow, filters and transponder results

Menu → Setup → Tuners, Scanning & Reception → Blind scan. The plugin discovers carriers without a complete initial frequency list. It requires a supported tuner and matching manufacturer backend. Installing the plugin alone is insufficient.

  1. Select a configured tuner and satellite.
  2. Choose Scan for transponders to inspect carriers first, or channel scan to discover services afterwards.
  3. Match frequency range, polarisation and symbol-rate range to the installation. Symbol rates here are in MSym/s.
  4. Check clearing and FTA settings. Filter known transponders, duplicates and adjacent positions according to the intended search.
  5. Start with Green/Scan and wait for results. In the transponder list, select wanted candidates and start the service scan from them.

Blue/Restore defaults, where shown, resets plugin values. Yellow/Open XML, where results exist, opens the XML output. EXIT/Exit leaves the dialog. Displayed actions can change during a scan.

All 23 extracted form variants appear in the Blindscan reference section. These include C-band and user-defined inverted-LNB frequency boundaries, device-specific step size and discovered-transponder selection. Copying another receiver’s values cannot add unsupported features.

The module overview explains each filter and XML results under /tmp. Check unexpected satellite positions and duplicate carriers before replacing your service database. A full scan cannot correct dish alignment or a wrong DiSEqC port.
