MetrixHD resolution – HD, FHD and WQHD

Skin resolution is the drawing surface of the interface. It defines the pixel dimensions used to create menus, text and icons.

Change the resolution

Section titled “Change the resolution”
  1. Select Skin resolution and use Left/Right to browse the offered values.
  2. Choose the intended resolution and save the section.
  3. Select Apply changes in the main window and wait for completion.
  4. Check text, picons and your usual screens. Adjust font scaling if needed.

A missing resolution is not unlocked by Expert mode. The inspected code requires fhdskin for FHD and wqhdskin for WQHD. The image reports these device capabilities, so the handbook does not need a model list.

Three separate settings

A UHD television does not require a UHD interface. WQHD is not UHD/4K. Higher skin resolution does not add detail to a channel or video. Font size is often the more appropriate setting when the goal is easier reading.

  • All calculated values round down: controls rounding of scaled positions and sizes at higher skin resolutions.
  • Additional offset for font scaling: adjusts the calculated text size. Large offsets can push text beyond its fields.
  • Enhanced picon scaling and sharpness: affect the rendering of resized channel logos; they do not install missing picons.

Published screenshot series use HD. FHD was confirmed as an offered choice on the test receiver; this does not verify every screen in FHD or WQHD.
