Manual IP and adapter options

Open Menu → Setup → Network → Network Overview, select the adapter and press OK. A DHCP reservation on the router often provides all the stability needed: the receiver keeps DHCP enabled while the router always assigns it the same address.

This example applies only to a 192.168.1.0/24 home network with router 192.168.1.1. It is not a universal configuration.

Field Example Meaning
Enabled Yes Use the adapter at startup
IP protocol IPv4 only Matches this example; dual stack supports IPv4 and IPv6
Use DHCP No Reveals manual IPv4 fields
IP address 192.168.1.50 An unused address reserved for the receiver in your subnet
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Equivalent to /24
Default gateway 192.168.1.1 Router towards other networks/the Internet
DNS override Yes Adapter-specific DNS configuration
Primary DNS IPv4 192.168.1.1 Router acting as resolver
Secondary DNS unused Optional, not a second mandatory address
  1. Determine the router address, subnet mask and DHCP pool.
  2. Choose a conflict-free address outside the freely allocated DHCP pool, or explicitly reserve it at the router. Do not use the router, network or broadcast address.
  3. Fill in the fields and choose Green/Save. Connectivity may briefly drop.
  4. Check the new IP on the TV, reconnect browser/SSH to it and run the network test.

An address such as 192.168.0.50 does not fit this 192.168.1.0/24 example unchanged. Duplicate IP addresses can produce intermittent and confusing failures.

Option When does it matter?
IP protocol IPv4 only, IPv6 only or both. The DHCP switch and displayed manual address fields concern IPv4; IPv6 has different automatic configuration mechanisms.
Network metric With multiple adapters, the lower metric influences the preferred default route. Do not give a second connection the same static IP.
DNS override Uses adapter DNS instead of global settings. IPv4/IPv6 fields follow the protocol choice. Global DNS changes may consequently not affect this adapter.
Link speed Normally leave Auto/negotiation enabled. Forcing speed or duplex can degrade or disconnect the link.
Wake-on-LAN Supported hardware only: wake using a Magic Packet. It neither replaces a recording timer nor guarantees wakeup from every power state.
Wake-on-WiFi / WoW only Supported wireless drivers only. WoW only reserves the adapter for waking instead of a normal connection.

The complete adapter reference includes all conditional fields. The screenshots changed form values only, not the receiver’s active connection.

Example 192.168.1.50/24 with gateway 192.168.1.1. Values were not applied to the active connection.
