Controls and menus

Many dialogs follow the same pattern. Follow the labels on the current screen: a colour button can perform a different action in another dialog.

Button Common use
MENU Open the main menu; inside a list, often opens additional actions
Up/down arrows Select an entry
Left/right arrows Change an offered value or move between areas
OK Open or confirm a selection
EXIT Go back or leave a dialog; read any prompt about unsaved changes
Colour buttons Perform the action labelled at the bottom of the screen
HELP Open control help where the dialog provides it

A path such as Menu → Setup → Network means: open the menu, choose “Setup”, then “Network”. Bold text identifies labels; monospace text identifies values such as paths and technical keys.

Press MENU, select Setup in the main menu and press OK.

Choose the relevant topic. Usage & GUI contains the settings mode. Network, EPG and reception have their own sections.

Easy to miss: With the main menu open, another press of MENU opens OSD Settings directly. This contains vertical/horizontal menus, sorting and display help as well as simple and second Infobar options. In the channel list, MENU opens that list’s own context menu instead.

  1. Select the option you want to change.
  2. Read the help text for that row.
  3. Change the value using the offered controls or open its input field.
  4. Choose the labelled Save action to keep the change. Leaving a dialog does not always save it.
  5. Follow any request to restart the GUI or the system.

Level Meaning
Simple Fewer options for basic setup
Intermediate Additional configuration options
Expert Includes entries marked as expert options

Expert mode makes more options visible. It does not automatically change their values. Some entries appear only after enabling a related feature or opening a particular plugin.

Use Find a setting to locate the right section. The handbook follows menu labels so it remains useful with different skins.
