Customize system settings

Menu → Setup → Usage & GUI → Customize System Settings contains options shared by several areas. Change one group at a time. Green/Save applies changes; Red/Cancel discards unsaved form changes. Follow any GUI restart request.

The existing 31-option reference includes the individual expert teletext fields. This guide explains the relationship between the groups.

Settings mode selects Simple, Intermediate or Expert. It limits visible settings; it is not a performance mode and does not reset values. A hidden expert option can remain active. Input scroll position defines the proportion of the input field at which long text scrolls with the cursor. It does not change key repeat or channel-list scrolling speed.

Caching speeds access to pages already received. Font and resolution selects a preset or expert mode. Expert mode exposes UseTTF, bold text, horizontal resolution, start/end coordinates, X/Y letter offsets and width/height factors. Factors affect the font; coordinates define its display region. CleanAlgo controls how resolution and framebuffer are restored on exit.

Start with a suitable preset. Change individual expert fields only to address a specific display problem; unsuitable borders or scaling can clip text. Using teletext explains pages, subpages and teletext subtitles. These options do not translate pages or provide teletext where the service carries none.

Option Purpose and limit
Alternative services tuner priority Prefer a reception type when configured alternatives provide the same service through different tuner types. It does not add reception hardware.
Include ECM in http streams Include entitlement control data for a legitimately authorised client that needs it. ECM is neither picture data nor an entitlement.
Unscramble http streams Decrypt outgoing streams on the receiver where possible, requiring appropriate decryption and valid entitlements.
Unscramble receiving http streams Route received HTTP streams through local decryption; additional demux resources may be used. The code handles services marked with 0x100 in the service type this way regardless of the switch.
Require authentication for http streams Require credentials on the streaming connection. Check together with OpenWebif streaming authentication and the actual player. This is separate from website HTTP authentication.
Http(s) stream start delay Add a delay before startup, in milliseconds. Increase only when the particular startup process needs it. This is not a general buffer for later network interruptions.

See decryption and streaming for the related workflows.

Option Meaning
After power loss Action after an unclean shutdown or loss of power, separate from normal boot behaviour.
Boot-up action Start normal playback or enter standby after boot, according to the available choices.
Wake up time before a timer begins How early the receiver should boot before a timer. A NAS may need extra startup time; also check recording margins and mount availability.
Use workaround for wake up from deep-standby Detect timer wakeups using a time window when the hardware wakeup indication is unreliable.
Time window for detection of the wake up by a timer Extend detection when the workaround is active. This does not create another alarm or correct an inaccurate clock.

Standby keeps Enigma2 running; Deep Standby stops the running system. A receiver disconnected from power cannot start itself through an Enigma2 timer. See time and wakeup and recording timers. Enable the workaround only to address an observed detection issue.

Cut file support for non-TS videos and for audio files allow companion files containing marks or resume positions for suitable other formats. Extended cut file support stores additional information. Chapter support uses chapter positions supplied by the media and playback service.

These switches do not cut, convert or delete media. They cannot add missing chapter support to a playback service. Directory write permissions and retaining companion files matter. See MovieSelection and playback services.
