e2MDB – Providers and languages

Choose providers to suit the content. A small selection is easier to diagnose than every provider enabled at once. Additional providers can fill gaps but cannot guarantee a match or a particular picture.

Language and fallback
Section titled “Language and fallback”Provider search language affects searches and the preferred language of returned metadata. It is separate from the receiver’s menu language.
English metadata text fallback retries metadata in English when the chosen language provides artwork but no usable text. Translate English metadata fallback can translate the returned overview and tagline into the selected language before storage. This is automatic translation, not an editorially checked description.
Google title translation fallback is a separate option for a title search that found no result. Start with it disabled and enable it for a specific need. Translation services receive the search or description text needed for that operation.
FanArt.tv artwork mode either fills missing artwork or prefers FanArt artwork over that of the matching metadata provider. It does not identify an otherwise unknown title by itself.
An IMDb plugin and e2MDB are different extensions. Installing a separate TVSpielfilm plugin also does not automatically configure e2MDB. The provider switches inside e2MDB determine its behaviour.
