Add-ons and their settings

Add-ons extend the shared Enigma2 interface. They are often simply called plugins or extensions. They can provide their own menus, data sources and workflows.

  1. Read what the extension is intended to do.
  2. Install the appropriate plugin.
  3. Open its menu entry or settings.
  4. Enter the required details and check the result using a small, concrete task.

The basic EPG guide explains the guide and cache. Two extensions have dedicated instructions:

  • EPGRefresh collects DVB programme data by receiving selected services and bouquets.
  • EPGImport downloads XMLTV sources and has its own day/time schedule.

Missing data and IPTV explains channel mapping. Both extensions share the handbook’s search.

Each extension can have a subdirectory with an introduction, setup guide and troubleshooting. This keeps extensive additional features in separate articles while retaining one shared search. Further add-ons can follow the same pattern.

Built-in MovieSelection needs no such add-on. The comparison of the three interfaces helps you choose.

Set up AutoTimer covers search rules, service/day filters, series, preview and the recording timers it creates. All 24 global settings have individual explanations and are searchable.

MediaPlayer, DVD/Blu-ray, ServiceApp and SubsSupport have a dedicated section with setup, options and screenshots. The player overview explains how playback services relate to recording lists and hardware.

e2MDB – detailed handbook covers setup, providers, 47 settings, media library, EPG prefill, web editor, maintenance and skin integration.
